About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team as Deputy Director of Physiotherapy Services. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of evidence-based best practice and contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality physiotherapy services across Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of evidence-based best practice in physiotherapy, including innovative and evolving roles within the Trust and wider system.
  • Support the Head of Profession for Physiotherapy to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality physiotherapy services across the Trust.
  • Provide professional leadership and governance for physiotherapy services, working closely with other stakeholders within Gloucestershire.
  • Report to the Head of Profession for Physiotherapy and support them in delivering physiotherapy leadership, high standards of care, and quality outcomes.
  • Provide professional supervision to senior physiotherapists and health and exercise practitioners across the Trust.
  • Support the implementation of evidence-based physiotherapy best practice, including innovative and evolving roles within the Trust and wider system.
  • Engage the physiotherapy workforce, making complex decisions and judgments about the best ways to support job satisfaction and best patient experience and outcomes.
  • Deputise for the Head of Profession for Physiotherapy and represent the Physiotherapy Service both locally and nationally, when required.
Requirements
  • Registered Physiotherapist with the HCPC.
  • Relevant Masters qualification or equivalent work at this level.
  • Appropriate management development/leadership qualification.
  • Knowledge of Physiotherapy across the range of mental health, physical community health, paediatric, and learning disability physiotherapy practice areas gained through substantial experience as a senior Physiotherapist.
  • Working knowledge of the modernisation and development issues facing Health Care Services.
  • Experience working as a senior Physiotherapist in numerous settings and representing a broad range of care environments and client groups.
  • Evidence of sustained practice development and achievement in previous posts.
  • Experience of research, quality improvement, audit, or evaluation processes.
