Residential Recovery and Intervention Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Residential Recovery and Intervention Officer to join our team at Hillside Secure Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality of care and education for young people aged 12-17 years, within three secure living homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the effective and efficient running of the Home, undertaking tasks and work with young people to enable positive change in their behaviour and attitude.
- Work directly with children in a structured, therapeutic way, using an eclectic approach supported by a Psychologist, Psychiatrist, and Drug Counselling Services.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the needs of each young person are met.
- Provide a safe and supportive environment, promoting the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of each young person.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a comprehensive range of education, vocational, and recreational learning opportunities are provided.
- Participate in regular training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in child care, youth justice, and specialist fields of work with young people.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with young people, preferably within a residential setting.
- Patience, flexibility, and understanding, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Personal skills, abilities, and knowledge in child care, youth justice, and specialist fields of work with young people.
- Ability to do shift work, weekend duties, and sleeping in duties on a rota basis.
- Compliance with the requirements of registration set out by Social Care Wales, including completion of a QCF Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young People within 3 years of appointment.
