Residential Recovery and Intervention Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Residential Recovery and Intervention Officer at Hillside Secure Centre.
About the Role: As a Residential Recovery and Intervention Officer, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to 12 young people, aged 12-17 years, within three secure living homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a team approach to the effective and efficient running of the Home, undertaking tasks and work with young people to enable positive change in their behaviour and attitude.
- Work directly with children in a structured, therapeutic way, using an eclectic approach supported by a Psychologist, Psychiatrist, and Drug Counselling Services.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each young person.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide a comprehensive range of education, vocational, and recreational learning opportunities.
- Participate in shift work, weekend duties, and sleeping in duties on a rota basis, demonstrating flexibility and understanding.
Requirements:
- Patience, flexibility, and understanding when working with young people.
- Experience of working with young people, preferably within a residential setting.
- Personal skills, abilities, and knowledge in child care, youth justice, and specialist fields of work with young people.
- Ability to comply with the requirements of registration set out by Social Care Wales and complete a QCF Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young People within 3 years of appointment.
- Completion of a Behaviour Management training course, which is essential.
