About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Anglian Water Services. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary project team, you will provide technical leadership and expertise in mechanical engineering to develop and deliver water TOTEX solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and analysis of key mechanical options, ensuring risks and gaps are mitigated and the Project Basis of Design is upheld.
  • Design calculations to size mechanical, hydraulic, power generating and building services equipment.
  • Liaise with the supply chain to assess and understand the latest technologies as part of the optioneering process.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop 3D models and solutions.
  • Oversee the outputs for processes including P&IDs, Data sheets, HAZID and HAZOP studies, and mechanical input into commissioning plans.
  • Support the team in driving excellence in Health & Safety, demonstrating applied knowledge and skills to produce safe designs.
  • Identify and promote opportunities to meet project digital, sustainability, innovation and people objectives.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive practical mechanical design experience in a similar environment.
  • Proven track record of designing hydraulic and mechanical systems and products.
  • Good understanding of modular build and construction processes and procedures.
  • Broad knowledge of electrical control, instrumentation and switchgear equipment and suppliers.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with accountability and integrity.
  • Willingness to safely try new approaches and processes, utilising new technologies to drive efficiencies.
