As part of our ongoing growth and development, we're looking for a talented Data Protection and Governance Specialist to join our team.

Role Overview

As a Data Protection and Governance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Card Factory complies with all relevant data protection and governance regulations. You will work closely with the GRC Manager and DPO to develop and implement our data protection strategy, policies, and procedures.

  • Develop and Maintain Data Protection Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain a comprehensive data protection strategy that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Draft, review, and implement policies and procedures related to data protection, privacy, and governance. Ensure these documents are clear, concise, and easily understood by all employees.
  • Compliance Monitoring and Auditing: Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR and PECR. Identify any gaps or areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions.
  • Risk Management and Mitigation: Assess potential risks to data privacy and develop mitigation strategies to minimize these risks. Stay informed about emerging threats and vulnerabilities in the data protection landscape.
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness of data protection best practices among employees. Provide guidance and support on data handling procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Protection and Governance Specialist with a strong understanding of data privacy regulations and best practices. You should possess excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven experience in managing data protection operations compliant with GDPR and PECR.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant data protection laws and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
