Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Contract Position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems, a leading company in the Defence & Security industry.

Job Summary:

This is a contract position based in Christchurch, with a duration of 12 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical hardware components using proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to project requirements and specifications
  • Conduct detailed analysis and calculations to validate design performance and functionality
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for improvements
  • Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality designs within set deadlines
Requirements:
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD packages such as Siemens NX or Solidworks
  • Qualification in mechanical engineering
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer
