About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Area Planner to join our team in Bescot, Walsall. As an Area Planner, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting on multi-discipline localised area programmes in line with client service level agreements and internal commercial requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Communicate with key stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and roadwork promotion.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate procedures, job packs, and programme of work.
  • Coordinate and deliver cyclical and reactive maintenance within the Area 9 strategic network.
  • Line manage planning staff for respective areas and disciplines.
  • Liaise with National Highways Roadspace booking team to book and maximise network utilisation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in planning, preferably in the highways maintenance industry.
  • Strong operational knowledge of highways maintenance and traffic management requirements.
  • Knowledge of National Highways roadspace booking and optimising working windows.
  • Effective communication and commercial acumen skills.
