Job Title: Consultant Children Medical

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Children Medical to join our team at the NHS. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the field of child mental health.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct clinical care to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of psychotherapy services for children and adolescents.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members, including medical trainees and honorary staff.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in clinical decision-making and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines.
Requirements:
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCPsych or equivalent.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
  • Eligible for approval as an approved Clinician.
  • MHA 1983 Section 12 Approval.
  • MSc or other higher degree.
  • External training in psychoanalytical psychotherapy and registered with the BPC.
  • On the GMC Specialist Register with accreditation in psychotherapy or within six months of CCT.
Desirable Skills:
  • Excellent clinical skills in psychotherapy.
  • Good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
  • Excellent knowledge in speciality.
  • Able to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to work at various NHS sites.

The salary for this position is £105,504 to £139,882 per annum, pro rata.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
