About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dementia Support Specialist to join our team at Alzheimer's Society. As a Dementia Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support, information, and guidance to people with dementia and their carers, helping to maintain their independence and improve their sense of well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to individuals with dementia and their carers, identifying their needs and connecting them with relevant services.
  • Deliver group sessions and workshops to create support networks and build friendships in a safe and engaging environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support and care for individuals with dementia.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, promoting our Dementia Advice service and building trust with key stakeholders.

About You:

  • You have a strong understanding of dementia and its impact on individuals and families, with a passion for providing high-quality support and care.
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the needs of diverse individuals.
  • You are a team player, with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for people with dementia.
  • You have good IT skills, with experience working with databases and virtual meeting software.
  • You are able to travel independently across the local area, with a valid driver's license (if required).
