Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Prysmian Group.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced production environment, where you will be responsible for diagnosing, fault-finding, and repairing medium to heavy industrial plant and machinery.

You will work closely with our maintenance engineering team to develop and implement modifications to improve the reliability of our plant and machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faults on industrial plant and machinery
  • Complete preventative maintenance checks and inspections
  • Develop and implement modifications to improve plant and machinery reliability
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing and maintenance colleagues
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Work to a continuous shift pattern with necessary overtime to cover holidays
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols with absolute priority
Requirements
  • Time served maintenance apprenticeship within manufacturing
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a fitter/maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Welding and brazing skills
  • Rigging of unbalanced loads
  • Risk assessment and safety awareness, guarding of machinery legislation
  • High pressure steam maintenance
  • MS Office or equivalent
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Minimum of BTEC ONC level in Mechanical Engineering
