About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at SLR. As a Geotechnical Engineer - Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing ground investigations and fieldwork, scheduling and managing laboratory testing, and installing geotechnical instrumentation.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and current UK ground investigation techniques, specifications, and standards. They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Supervision: Oversee ground investigations and fieldwork, ensuring that all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Lab Management: Schedule and manage laboratory testing, ensuring that all samples are processed and analyzed in a timely manner.
  • Instrumentation Installation: Install geotechnical instrumentation, including monitoring systems and data loggers.
  • Project Planning: Assist with the planning and procurement of ground investigations, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Geotechnical Analysis: Conduct geotechnical analysis, including limit equilibrium analysis, to inform project decisions.
  • Reporting: Prepare factual reports on project progress and outcomes.
  • Health and Safety: Conduct health and safety risk assessments and develop plans to mitigate risks.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Geotechnical Engineer who is passionate about delivering high-quality projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, with a degree in a relevant field and/or relevant professional certifications.

They will also have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A full driving license is essential for this role, as the successful candidate will be required to travel to project sites throughout the UK and overseas.
