Job Title: Early Years Tutor

The National Skills Agency is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Years Tutor to join our team. As an Early Years Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the vocational and professional development of learners undertaking Early Years programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish good relationships with learners, ensuring they understand their tasks and agree on deadlines.
  • Communicate proactively with learners and their workplace managers, keeping them informed of progress and responding to queries within a 1-working-day timeframe.
  • Advise and support learners in selecting units and levels, specifying which aspects of the Standards must be assessed through performance in the workplace.
  • Conduct skills scans and initial assessments to support enrolment and ensure suitability for the course.
  • Prepare learners for End-Point Assessment (EPA) throughout delivery and conduct Gateway meetings, supporting learners and employers to compile necessary requirements.
  • Attend standardisation and training meetings, both sector-specific and company-wide.
  • Conduct observations of practice within the learner's workplace.
  • Maintain up-to-date teaching, learning, and assessment records, as well as audit trails of progress and communication via online learner portfolios.
  • Maintain up-to-date CPD and occupational competence, providing records and evidence.
  • Use effective and professional communication methods with your team and wider sectors across the company.
  • Manage a caseload of learners by diarising and managing your time effectively.
Requirements:
  • Hold a current Level 3 CAVA or equivalent and Level 3 Training and Education qualification or equivalent.
  • Be prepared to commence working towards a teaching qualification if not already held, with a commitment to complete this within a 4-month timescale.
