Job Summary:

SSQ is seeking an experienced Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) specialist to join our team in London. As an FDI associate, you will play a key role in helping us grow our FDI practice and advise clients on foreign investment issues across Europe.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with experience in merger control and antitrust filings. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in FDI and a strong understanding of the broader EU and UK investment policy landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on foreign investment issues across Europe, including merger control and antitrust filings.
  • Work closely with our team to develop and implement strategies for growing our FDI practice.
  • Represent clients before the European Commission and competent authorities in Belgium, Germany, and the UK.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with government officials in EU Member States, the EU Commission, and the German and UK governments.
  • Collaborate with our European-wide FDI-network of partner firms to assist clients with national issues.

Requirements:

  • Experience in merger control and antitrust filings.
  • Strong understanding of the broader EU and UK investment policy landscape.
  • Keen interest in FDI and a willingness to learn and develop expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
