About the Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated graduates with a passion for supporting young people with varying disabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have studied Psychology, Social Sciences, Sports, Linguistics, or any other relevant subject to gain experience and develop their skills in a supportive environment.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teaching staff to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support students with SEND in their learning and development
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure a safe and productive learning environment
  • Be responsible for upholding school policies, including behavior policies
  • Manage behavior and provide support to students as needed
  • In certain schools, aspects of personal care and moving and handling may be required

Requirements:

  • A patient and understanding approach
  • An interest and passion in supporting students with SEND
  • A flexible approach and open nature
  • Existing experience working with children or adults with SEND is preferred but not essential
  • Team Teach or Moving and Handling training preferred but not essential
