Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team in the Microbiology Department at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the diagnostic bacteriology section of our busy department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of laboratory samples
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment
  • Support the team in achieving high-quality diagnostic results
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be flexible, enthusiastic, and well-motivated. Knowledge and experience of laboratory work would be an advantage, but full training will be provided. You will also need to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Working Hours

The successful candidate will work between 8.00 am and 8.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Weekend and public holiday working may be required.
