Overview of Our Program:

Recognized as one of the leading firms in the construction and civil engineering sector, our esteemed Trainee Program is crafted to provide you with invaluable, practical experience. This initiative is aimed at enhancing your technical capabilities, fostering new relationships, and achieving an academic qualification. We take pride in being a platinum member of the % club, which acknowledges employers with a significant percentage of their workforce engaged in 'earn and learn' roles.

Join a team of industry experts in a full-time capacity, embarking on a fulfilling career where you can contribute positively to society.

Our development framework comprises five distinct modules that run concurrently with your permanent position. These modules are designed to cultivate your interpersonal and leadership abilities, complementing the hands-on technical experience you will acquire in your role.

We will fully sponsor your academic qualification, tailored to your specific role, educational level, and personal aspirations. (We offer apprenticeships and various qualifications at multiple levels).

If you are enthusiastic about gaining practical experience and obtaining a recognized qualification, our Trainee Programs could serve as a solid foundation for your career with Galliford Try.

Responsibilities:

You will be enrolled in an apprenticeship course relevant to your current educational background. We offer apprenticeships ranging from foundational levels to degree-level programs, all fully funded by Galliford Try. The specific course level will be discussed during the interview process and confirmed upon offer. Upon completion of the program, you will earn a qualification in this field while acquiring practical skills throughout your tenure.

In addition, you will participate in our Trainee Development Program, receiving training and resources to enhance your skills through a series of modules over the course of a year, culminating in a graduation event.

As an Apprentice Civil Engineering Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Contributing to the establishment of a safe working environment.

• Assisting in site engineering control and setting out tasks, providing necessary information to team members and subcontractors.

• Completing daily logs along with any required photographic documentation.

• Aiding in material reconciliations.

• Ensuring all surveying instruments are properly calibrated.

• Supporting the execution of as-built surveys on completed works and drawings.

• Assisting in the creation of design and development site sketches.

• Helping maintain quality records, ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and preserving as-built documentation.

• Assisting in basic planning, monitoring, and scheduling.

• Aiding in the control and reduction of waste on site.

• Identifying and assisting in the introduction of new processes, techniques, and innovations on site.

• Ensuring all company assets under your supervision are well-maintained and securely stored when not in use.
