Job Title: Powertrain Calibration Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Powertrain Calibration Engineer to join our team at NS85 Ltd. As a Powertrain Calibration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Start of Production Projects within the Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM) and related sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the calibration process for various powertrain components, utilizing both toolsets and processes.
  • Develop and manage detailed engine and system test plans, ensuring all aspects of the powertrain are evaluated.
  • Conduct thorough system simulation activities, including planning, execution, and analysis to optimize powertrain performance.
  • Perform data analysis and root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and solve complex powertrain system issues.
  • Develop system models and calibration simulations, particularly using tools such as MATLAB SIMULINK.
  • Generate and present comprehensive reports, including recommendations and proposals, to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across different teams and clients to achieve project objectives, promoting best practices and technical solutions.
Requirements:
  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • A deep understanding of diesel internal combustion engine operation, performance, and ancillary systems.
  • Familiarity with powertrain system requirements, including emissions standards and vehicle control systems.
  • Proficiency in simulation systems, notably MATLAB SIMULINK, and experience with calibration toolsets.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting complex data sets and providing clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent teamwork capabilities and communication skills, able to convey technical information effectively.
  • A self-starter mindset, with the flexibility and adaptability to work on a variety of projects within the NRMM sector.
