About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team at Understanding Recruitment. As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a key role in the development of our cloud-based retail software, working closely with our team of experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications using Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of our cloud hosting infrastructure, including AWS and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Develop and maintain build tools, such as Maven and Gradle, to streamline our development process.
  • Work with XML and JSON data formats and have a working knowledge of at least one J2EE container, such as Tomcat.
  • Bonus: experience with frontend technologies like React, Angular, or Vue is a plus.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of commercial experience developing with Java.
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and cloud hosting.
  • Containerization experience using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Build tools experience using Maven and Gradle.
  • Working knowledge of XML or JSON data formats.
  • Working knowledge of at least one J2EE container, such as Tomcat.
  • Bonus: experience with frontend technologies like React, Angular, or Vue is a plus.
