Position: Operations Manager


We are in search of an enthusiastic and skilled Operations Manager with expertise in fresh food products to become a vital part of our thriving team.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in Food Production, Manufacturing, Operations, or agricultural management.

As an Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in directing the planning, organization, and oversight of our production operations, ensuring that the highest quality standards are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the production workforce, including pickers and packers, to guarantee seamless and effective operations.
  • Provide clear direction and performance expectations to team members, ensuring they comprehend their contributions to the organization.
  • Formulate and execute strategic initiatives to enhance production workflows and boost overall efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop supervisors to strengthen their leadership and management capabilities, ultimately improving productivity.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality regulations throughout the production cycle.
  • Collaborate with various departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Ensure that new pickers and placers are trained in relevant safety protocols and operating procedures.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings to plan staffing, yields, facilities, and work hours for the upcoming day.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment to achieve daily picking targets.
  • Communicate with Harvesting Team Leaders, Supervisors, and other management regarding team performance, yields, and equipment issues.
  • Continuously monitor and assess picking statistics, ensuring all harvesters meet minimum performance standards and applying disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Analyze production performance data to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Manage workforce levels and schedule shifts to align with business demands, including weekend and overtime work during peak times.
Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in a production management capacity, ideally within the agri-food sector.
  • Strong background in fresh food products is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and leading teams in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in food production or fresh food environments is preferred.
  • A management style that emphasizes coaching, mentoring, and motivation.
  • A history of achieving productivity, quality, and performance targets.
  • Familiarity with lean practices, continuous improvement, and change management.
  • Experience in managing health and safety protocols.
  • Proven ability in strategic planning and implementing process enhancements.
  • Exceptional people management and leadership abilities.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
