Estimator - Architectural Metalwork Specialist


About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating and tendering for architectural metalwork projects, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate and tender for architectural metalwork projects, including structural steel, balconies, balustrades, staircases, railings, glass systems, decking, and sheet metalwork.
  • Carry out take-offs from drawings and measurements to produce bills of quantities/price schedules.
  • Deal with client enquiries, providing accurate and detailed information to support tender submissions.
  • Prepare and submit tenders within the agreed timeframe, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow up on submitted tenders, receiving feedback from clients and updating records accordingly.
  • Conduct handover meetings to pass secured projects to the production team.
  • Develop relationships with clients to secure further business opportunities.
  • Liaise with colleagues to facilitate the progression of tenders and projects.
  • Produce estimates for projects ranging from £1,000 to £3,000,000 in value.


Requirements:

  • Must have estimating experience within the metalwork market sector, whether structural or architectural.
  • Experience dealing with structural steel, balconies, balustrades, staircases, railings, glass systems, decking, and sheet metalwork would be advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Driven, enthusiastic, and comfortable working autonomously.
