About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Firearms Licensing Enquiry Officer to join our team at West Mercia Police. As a Firearms Licensing Enquiry Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and responsible handling of firearms, ammunition, and explosives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough enquiries into applicants' suitability to possess firearms, ammunition, and/or explosives, in accordance with relevant legislation, Home Office guidelines, and Force Policy.
  • Make recommendations on the grant or renewal of dealer certificates and registration, and conduct inspections of dealers, clubs, and ranges.
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure effective and efficient processing of firearms licensing applications.
