Job Title: Senior Backend Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing our backend infrastructure, which is built on Microsoft Azure, PlayFab, and PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services using C# and Azure Functions.
  • API Management: Implement and manage APIs for game features, user data, and other backend services.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure high performance, responsiveness, and scalability of the backend.
  • Database Management: Maintain consistent PlayFab data across development and production environments.
  • Database Administration: Use CLI utilities to manage PlayFab data, including downloading, checking, and migrating data.
  • Configuration Management: Update Title data and Catalog configurations on PlayFab.
  • Version Management: Manage PlayFab item versions and handle version migrations.
  • Database Design: Design, implement, and maintain database schemas using EntityFramework and PostgreSQL.
  • SQL Migration: Generate and apply SQL migrations to update the database schema.
  • Database Consistency: Ensure the database is up-to-date and consistent with the application requirements.
  • Table Management: Design, create, and manage PostgreSQL tables and schemas.
  • Database Population: Populate and handle PostgreSQL databases using SQL and ORM tools.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Set up and manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Automation: Automate tests and deployment processes to ensure smooth and reliable releases.
  • Version Control: Integrate version control systems and manage release versions.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor backend performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Logging and Alerting: Implement logging and alerting mechanisms to ensure system reliability.
  • Process Optimization: Optimize backend processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • C# and.NET Framework: Proficiency in C# and.NET framework.
  • Microsoft Azure: Experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions and Azure DevOps.
  • PlayFab Services: Strong knowledge of PlayFab services and APIs.
  • EntityFramework: Experience with EntityFramework for database management.
  • PostgreSQL Databases: Proficiency in working with PostgreSQL databases.
  • CLI Utilities: Familiarity with CLI utilities for managing backend tasks.
  • Version Control Systems: Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in backend development.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Proven experience in managing cloud-based infrastructure and services.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Database Schema Design: Hands-on experience with database schema design and SQL migrations.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Independence and Task Management: Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Backend Languages and Frameworks: Knowledge of other backend languages and frameworks.
  • Game Development: Experience with game development and familiarity with game-specific backend requirements.
  • Certifications: Certifications in Azure or other relevant technologies.
  • PostgreSQL Administration: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration and optimization.
  • PostgreSQL Features and Best Practices: Knowledge of PostgreSQL-specific features and best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
