Job Summary

The primary objective of this role is to provide strategic coordination of research and innovation projects across the East Midlands Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA) footprint. This involves collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including NHS providers, academic institutions, and industry partners.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research and innovation activities within the East GMSA, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and milestones.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including researchers, clinicians, and industry partners.
  • Provide expert advice on research governance, ethics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate the development of research proposals, protocols, and reports.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director, Strategy Director, and Innovation Director to ensure effective management of the genomic research programme.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Master's degree or equivalent level experience in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in project or operational management, preferably in an academic or NHS environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of research governance, ethics, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop strategic recommendations.
About Us

The East GMSA is an Alliance Partnership between four NHS Trusts: Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Norfolk and Norwich University NHS Foundation Trust, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. This role will be based at one of these Trusts, with opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the Alliance.
