Key Responsibilities
- Provide precise and relevant information to healthcare practitioners and patients regarding the therapeutic benefits, potential side effects, and risks associated with medications in a considerate manner.
- Address urgent situations effectively, ensuring the timely provision of medications for emergency interventions and managing immediate recalls of pharmaceuticals outside regular hours.
- Compile and deliver comprehensive reports on governance and medication-related matters that may involve differing opinions, facilitating consensus among stakeholders.
- Advocate for the development, upkeep, dissemination, and training of staff on policies governing the safe and effective utilization of medications, in collaboration with medical and nursing teams, to comply with current regulations.
- Continuously enhance and maintain expertise in medication safety on both a national and international scale, serving as a role model and pharmacy authority on safety issues related to pharmaceuticals.

Candidate Profile
Experience Requirements
- Significant experience in hospital pharmacy at the Post Registration Pharmacist level.
- Provision of pharmacy services across various specialties.
Educational Qualifications
Required
- Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy practice.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Postgraduate diploma/MSc in clinically-focused pharmacy or an equivalent qualification; Pharmacy degree.
Preferred
- Membership in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
- Qualification in Independent Prescribing.
