About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join NHS Professionals Limited as a Senior Lead Pharmacist, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines across our partnered Trusts.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate information to healthcare professionals and patients about therapeutic effects, side effects, and potential adverse effects of medicines.
- Manage situations and actions required in urgent or emergency circumstances, including the supply of medicines for emergency treatments and immediate response recalls of medicines out-of-pharmacy-hours.
- Prepare and present detailed reports about governance and medication issues that may be controversial, disputed, or where multiple different views are held and consensus needs to be obtained.
- Promote the development, maintenance, publication, and education of staff on the policies for the safe and effective use of medicines in conjunction with medical and nursing staff, to meet the requirements of current legislation.
- Maintain and develop expertise and current awareness in relation to medicines safety nationally and internationally and act as a role model for medicines safety and become the pharmacy expert on medicines safety issues.
