Job Description

OBM People is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of operational services and driving performance improvements to achieve business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of operational services and drive performance improvements to achieve business targets.
  • Support the Operations Manager in leading and managing individual and team performance and development.
  • Collaborate with the HSSEQ department to ensure continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain reports using Power BI to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and build monthly reports.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and report significant breaches of policy and/or regulation to the Operations Manager or appropriate person.
  • Contribute to financial planning and budgetary control, inventory control, and disposal cost effectiveness.
  • Assist in the development and execution of business plans with a focus on profit growth.
  • Perform ad-hoc responsibilities as requested by the Operations Manager to ensure the successful operation of the facility.

Requirements:

  • UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while being a positive contributor to the wider team.
  • Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite and a practical understanding of data entry and reporting applications.
