Job Summary:

OBM People is seeking an experienced Operations Management Professional to join our team as an Assistant Operations Manager. This role will be responsible for leading the delivery of operational services and driving operational excellence to achieve performance and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the Operations Team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the South Bank Quay (SBQ) Operations Control Centre (OCC).
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Performance Management: Support the Operations Manager in leading and managing individual and team performance and development.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations, and industry standards/codes.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Use Power BI to report key performance indicators (KPIs) and build monthly reports to support business decision-making.
  • Inventory Management: Regularly stocktake and control inventory levels of consumables to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities for growth, introduce new products and services, and implement cost reductions and cost efficiency savings.
  • Financial Management: Support the Operations Manager/General Manager with the management of Teesworks P&L, including financial planning and budgetary control.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree or experience relevant to the role.
  • Qualifications: IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and computer literacy with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite.
