Role Summary

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to become a vital part of our team at the Headquarters in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire. This role involves the compilation of Supplier Performance Reports, conducting external audits, gathering Supplier performance metrics, and approving supplier PPAP submissions to support product development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers.
  • Assess the capabilities of both new and existing suppliers, including PPAP approvals.
  • Oversee and manage the audit program.
  • Conduct process audits to ensure compliance.
  • Advise suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives and monitor their progress.
  • Support SEWS-E locations in resolving quality issues related to suppliers.
  • Develop proactive programs with suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications, utilizing statistical and analytical methods to assess process stability.
  • Assist in identifying root causes and implementing containment measures following quality complaints.
  • Ensure suppliers meet the requirements for new product introductions across all SEWS-E locations.
  • Utilize and enhance SEWS-E quality tools, including the PPAP system, change management processes, Supplier Quality Performance metrics, and Supplier Evaluation methods.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Certification as a second-party auditor or lead auditor.
  • Proficient in IT and MS Office applications.
  • Possession of a valid driving license.
  • Experience in a similar role within a highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and other recognized quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with core quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and PPAP.
  • Practical experience in problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5Y, Ishikawa, etc.).
  • Experience with applied quality improvement tools (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.).

  • Able to travel to suppliers and SEWS-E locations across Europe and North Africa.
