The Security Content Engineer is an essential member of our Security Monitoring division. This role focuses on the creation, development, and upkeep of content for our Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, ensuring that our security monitoring functions are both efficient and effective.

About Us

This position is vital at Virgin Media O2, a prominent telecommunications provider in the UK. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace, empowering our team members to excel in their roles.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in developing SIEM content and managing SIEM tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of security operations, the threat landscape, and methodologies for threat detection.
  • Practical experience with SIEM platforms, especially Splunk and cloud-native solutions like Azure Sentinel or Google Chronicle.
  • Proficient scripting abilities in languages such as Python and Bash, along with experience in integrating SIEM APIs.

Additional Skills

  • Strong analytical, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, or other SIEM-related credentials are advantageous.
  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
