Group Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Accountant to enhance our financial processes and controls. The ideal candidate will have part-qualified or Qualified By Experience with solid experience in month-end procedures, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal auditing.

Main Responsibilities
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform thorough balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Internal Controls: Assist in the review and walkthrough of internal processes and controls, identifying any deficiencies.
  • Financial Planning: Provide recommendations and insights on the design and implementation of effective internal controls.
  • Month-End Closing: Support the finance team with month-end closing activities and the preparation of management accounts.
  • Rforecasting and Budgeting: Participate in reforecasting and budgeting exercises to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Take on additional ad-hoc tasks as required to support the finance department.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Part-qualified or Qualified By Experience with relevant experience.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience with month-end procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Skills: Proven track record in streamlining processes, designing, and implementing effective controls.
  • Auditing: Auditing experience focused on internal controls is highly desirable.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
