An excellent opportunity exists within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust for a proficient Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our Estates team, working across various locations in Hampshire. We seek a candidate who is adaptable, proactive, and possesses strong communication skills, along with a solid understanding of health and safety protocols. Your role will be crucial in fostering a secure environment that ensures our service users and staff receive the high-quality care and support they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and related tasks efficiently, continuously enhancing these processes.

- Conduct servicing of plumbing and mechanical systems according to the PPM schedule and directives from your Estates Officer.

- Perform reactive repairs on plumbing, heating, and ventilation systems, including:

  • General troubleshooting and resolution of reported issues.
  • Repair, replacement, and installation of plumbing fixtures such as faucets, toilets, sinks, supply lines, and drainage systems.
  • Maintenance of commercial heating systems and boilers.
  • Management of hot and cold water systems, both vented and unvented.
  • Oversee Air Handling Units (AHUs) and associated fan motors.
  • Maintain smoke and fire dampers, booster pumps, and medical gas systems.

- Ensure adherence to safe working practices within the Estates Maintenance operations, complying with all relevant regulations and Trust policies.

- Work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision, managing maintenance requests and documenting progress in the CAFM system.

- Engage in training to enhance your understanding of water safety in a healthcare context.
