Job Overview

The Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join its Medical Equipment Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing engineering support and assisting in the delivery of high-quality equipment management within the trust.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be committed to providing best practice solutions to planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and equipment asset management. You will be expected to support other core areas as required and work collaboratively with the team to ensure the smooth operation of medical equipment across the trust.

Key Duties

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of complex medical equipment, including monitoring, diagnostic, and surgical systems.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules and asset management systems to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff members on equipment-related issues.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements and best practices.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in electro-mechanical engineering, preferably in a complex electronic services or healthcare environment.
  • Good awareness of health and safety legislation relating to electronic equipment testing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff members at all levels.
  • Ability to self-manage and work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word skills, with the ability to create reports and documents as required.
