About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Mindful Chef. This is an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Buyer to drive our food sourcing strategy and ensure we deliver the highest standards of quality and value to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive food sourcing strategy that aligns with our company values and brand positioning.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible ingredients at the best price.
  • Work closely with our Technical, Operations, Kitchen, and Brand teams to ensure seamless integration of new produce and added-value products.
  • Drive gross margin improvements and economies of scale in overhead cost lines, balancing cost, quality, brand, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with our COO, Legal, and Technical teams to ensure strong risk management procedures are in place.
  • Source perfectly portioned packs and provide new produce/added-value products from suppliers who share our values and aspire to deliver the highest standards and specifications at the best cost.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in category buying, preferably in fresh produce buying.
  • Commercially minded, capable of delivering results with quality.
  • Research skills, with a desire to deeply understand and map supply chains to interrogate cost structures and quality to release value.
  • Customer-oriented, with a healthy obsession with quality for the end customer.
  • Team-player, with collaboration skills supported by emotional intelligence.
  • Technical skills, with a good working understanding of food safety regulations.
