About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EMC Engineer to join our client's R&D team in Somerset. As an EMC Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the compliance of our products with international standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the compliance team to ensure products meet regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers and testing organizations to coordinate and manage test programs.
  • Work with the R&D team to ensure new products are suitable for approval and meet compliance standards.
  • Lead a small team of Specialist Engineers/Technicians to ensure compliance testing activities run smoothly.
  • Ensure compliance risks/issues are identified and effectively communicated to the team.
  • Assist in the management of the certification library of approved products.
  • Develop and deliver training modules to internal teams to ensure compliance knowledge is up-to-date.

Our client is a leading British OEM undergoing substantial expansion in the next 3-5 years. They manufacture over 150 products, including a well-known brand in the UK and globally. The company offers a semi-rural lifestyle with access to the countryside and quick links to major towns and cities.

Requirements
  • Strong understanding of EMC testing and challenges (Emissions/Immunity) on domestic/commercial products.
  • Previous experience in a product compliance/regulatory role, with a relevant Electrical or Electronic engineering discipline or significant experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of domestic/commercial product compliance to international standards, including EN, IEC, UL/CSA, FCC.
  • Experience of operating/working in an EMC SAC/FAC chamber.
  • Experience in internal auditing and management (i.e. ISO 9001, 17025).
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and clearly communicate requirements.
  • An understanding of electrical/electronic engineering fundamentals.
