Lead Electronic Design Engineer

Seismic Limited is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electronic Design Engineer to join our team in Chard, Somerset. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of our innovative, sustainable, and next-generation product range.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of electronic systems and circuits, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement design solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality designs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our product offerings.

Requirements:

  • Significant knowledge and experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading design work in a similar manufacturing business.
  • Commercial experience, including negotiation techniques, supply chain management, and customer relationship development.
  • Expertise in embedded and power electronic design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation using Altium Designer.
  • Strong understanding of microprocessor, analogue, and digital design, as well as the ability to diagnose and mitigate EMC/EMI problems.
  • Experience with DFM, DFT, power supply design, PWM, and high-voltage design.
  • Ability to analyse and solve complex scenarios in mechatronics, including interactions of mechanics, electrical, and computer-related problems.
  • Experience in consumer products, power electronics, portable devices, and power tools.
  • Knowledge of best practice design guides, rules, manufacturing, and assembly techniques.
  • Hands-on testing and evaluation using a range of test equipment.
