We currently have a vacancy for a 30-hour Logistics Support Operative role based at Hinckley & Bosworth Community Hospital within our Estates and Facilities Directorate. The responsibilities include performing various Facilities Management tasks such as:
- Receipt and Distribution of healthcare-related items
- Transportation of linen carts, waste bins, and other materials within hospital premises
- Assisting with patient transfers (from reception to departments or between departments)
- Providing domestic and reception support
The successful candidate will deliver a high-quality, responsive, and efficient patient support service to wards and departments within LPT NHS Trust, embodying a caring and professional demeanor while adhering to departmental operating protocols. This role involves collaborating with a team to ensure a timely and proactive driver courier/porter service for the movement of patients, internal mail, furniture, materials, and equipment throughout the facility. Candidates are requested to bring photo identification and proof of eligibility to work during their interviews.
Key Responsibilities
The Logistics Support Operative will undertake the following Facilities Management functions:
- Receipt and Distribution of healthcare-related items
- Transportation of linen carts, waste bins, and other materials within hospital premises
- Assisting with patient transfers using wheelchairs, trolleys, or beds, including support for clinical staff to minimize risks
- Movement of deceased individuals in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures
- Ensuring all waste is collected, transported, and disposed of in compliance with Trust Policies and current legislation
