Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Geography Specialist to join our team at Twinkl. As a key member of our Content Development team, you will play a crucial role in creating accurate and engaging geography resources that promote sustainability throughout the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on terminology and best practices to ensure our content meets the highest standards.
  • Communicate subject knowledge clearly and concisely across different teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Provide direct feedback to content creators on resources to ensure they reflect current best practices.
  • Research and develop new resources and content to reflect current practice and demand in schools.
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum changes, new teaching practices, and trends to advise on their impact on our Twinkl offering.
  • Identify areas where resources or content represent a risk to the business and work with stakeholders to mitigate or reduce this.
  • Plan and host training sessions on best practices, including webinars for customers.
  • Work with other Specialist Advisers to develop your own practice and contribute to the development of our internal guidance and style sheet.
  • Check and approve new map illustrations to ensure they meet our guidelines.
  • Maintain relationships with other organizations and seek new partnerships to enhance our resources.
  • Attend schools to see resources in action and talk to teachers to gain valuable insights.
Requirements
  • Experience of teaching and detailed knowledge of the national curriculum for geography and related government guidance.
  • Detailed knowledge of the DfE Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy and its impact on educators.
  • Experience advising on or creating sensitive content, such as politically sensitive maps.
  • Drive for continuous professional development and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver and receive feedback professionally and positively.
