Job Title: Water Partnership Engagement Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water Partnership Engagement Specialist to join our team at the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Connected by Water partnership to increase its engagement with stakeholders across South Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement specific engagement plans to engage with a range of stakeholders, including communities, farmers, businesses, and partner organisations.
  • Collaborate with teams in our partner organisations and with wider stakeholders to secure opportunities to join up plans and messaging.
  • Develop and implement a programme of events and support the implementation of our education programme in schools.
  • Develop communications content for our channels to ensure that visibility and understanding of Connected by Water increases over time.
Requirements:
  • Education to degree level in a relevant subject, such as communications/marketing or geography/environmental science, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience of planning, implementing, and evaluating engagement activities, including setting engagement objectives and analysing stakeholders.
  • Experience engaging with at least one of the following groups: local councillors/politicians, communities, children/schools, landowners/farmers.
  • Good knowledge of communication channels, such as websites and social media.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance and safeguarding training or commitment to undertaking this in post.
