Position: Packaging Development Specialist at Oscar Mayer Group UK

This role at Oscar Mayer Group UK presents an exciting opportunity for you. We are in search of a Packaging Development Specialist to spearhead innovative packaging initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing the overarching Packaging Strategy under the guidance of the Head of Packaging, Indirects, and Group Services.
  • Oversee and advance the packaging innovation and reduction initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Procurement Category Manager – Packaging on technical matters.
  • Conduct Packaging Trials and offer technical assistance to various operational sites.
  • Ensure that all packaging meets legislative and regulatory standards.
  • Remain informed about the latest packaging trends and assess their potential impacts.
  • Participate in Value Engineering projects and contribute to packaging design efforts.
  • Document and report on advancements in packaging and material reduction.
  • Travel to operational sites and supplier locations as necessary.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Degree or Diploma in packaging technology or a related discipline.
  • Innovative, creative, and self-sufficient thinker.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Openness to travel as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience in procurement.
  • Familiarity with software systems for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of 3D printing and health and safety protocols.
