Position: Packaging Development Specialist at Oscar Mayer Group UK

Are you driven by the challenge of enhancing packaging solutions while prioritizing sustainability and adhering to industry standards? Oscar Mayer Group UK is seeking a Packaging Development Specialist to spearhead innovative packaging initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing the overarching Packaging Strategy under the guidance of the Head of Packaging and Group Services.
  • Oversee and advance the packaging innovation and reduction initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Procurement Category Manager – Packaging on technical matters.
  • Lead trials for packaging and offer technical assistance to various sites.
  • Ensure that all packaging meets legislative compliance.
  • Keep abreast of the latest packaging trends and assess their potential impacts.
  • Engage in Value Engineering projects and contribute to packaging design efforts.
  • Document and report on advancements in packaging and material reduction.
  • Travel to various sites and suppliers as necessary.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Degree or Diploma in packaging technology or a related discipline.
  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to think independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience in procurement.
  • Familiarity with software systems for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of 3D printing and health and safety regulations.
