Senior Editor

We are seeking an accomplished, tenacious, and deeply experienced editor to produce ambitious investigations, illuminating explanatory journalism, and spellbinding narrative work primarily in Europe, Russia, the Middle East, and Africa.
About the Role
The successful candidate will spearhead major investigative projects and other in-depth enterprise journalism across these dynamic and varied regions. As EMEA Investigations Editor, you will work closely with Reuters editors, reporters, and visual journalists around the world to leverage our vast expertise on political, business, and social issues and our on-the-ground presence in dozens of cities in these regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the conception, reporting, and publication of high-impact investigative and explanatory stories on a wide variety of subjects.
- See through the publication of projects from start to finish, responsible for the reporting, writing, and factual bulletproofing of the work you edit as well as the visual journalism that goes with it – and which will sometimes be the main vehicle for that work.
About You
You're a good fit for the role of EMEA Investigations Editor at Reuters if you have:
- A portfolio of bylined work (as reporter or editor) demonstrating an ability to produce agenda-setting investigations, deeply illuminating explanatory journalism, and spellbinding narratives.
- The ability to produce and to help spearhead both complex reporting projects and quick-hit in-depth pieces.
- Experience working with visual journalists and data journalists.
Numeracy
Comfort working on projects that involve gathering and making sense of data and an ability to spot opportunities where the creative use of it can elevate stories.
