About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Teaching and Research Technician to join our team at the University of Bath. As a key member of our Department of Life Sciences, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of laboratory-based teaching activities across our MSc programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and delivery of laboratory classes for MSc students, working closely with academic staff to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
  • Contribute to the assessment of MSc student work, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support student development.
  • Assist with the development of new teaching activities and resources, ensuring they are aligned with the University's teaching and learning strategies.
  • Support MSc students with their research projects, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed.
  • Lead the technical team across the MSc's main experimental research themes, focusing on molecular biology, microbiology, and tissue engineering.
Requirements
  • Significant experience and practical knowledge in one of the main areas of molecular biology, microbiology, or tissue engineering.
  • Excellent practical skills, with the ability to lead a technical team and work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with academic staff and students.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
