Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses the following duties:

  • Overseeing and coordinating activities for students at the Behavioral Support Center
  • Creating and implementing educational programs tailored for students attending the Behavioral Support Center
  • Formulating personalized support strategies aimed at enhancing student behavior post-attendance at the Behavioral Support Center
  • Collaborating with educators to ensure suitable assignments and provisions are established
  • Engaging with parents/guardians and relevant personnel to facilitate seamless transitions to and from the Behavioral Support Center
  • Managing necessary administrative tasks for students utilizing the Behavioral Support Center
  • Fostering a calm and focused educational atmosphere
  • Addressing any issues related to truancy or attendance
  • Mitigating the risk of permanent exclusion by providing an alternative curriculum that includes robust behavior management interventions
  • Setting clear behavioral expectations for students
  • Ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken for students not adhering to the Academy's code of conduct while at the Behavioral Support Center
  • Addressing behavioral concerns as directed by the Academy Leadership Group
  • Reporting any safety-related issues, such as bullying allegations, for further investigation as necessary
  • Assisting in the execution of the Behavior for Learning policy
  • Collaborating closely with the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team to ensure appropriate support is available for students
  • Updating the provision map to reflect the support offered at the Behavioral Support Center
    Working with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and internal/external agencies to identify mental health support needs
  • Supervising Teaching Assistant support during the time spent at the Behavioral Support Center
Desired Qualifications

  • Understanding of student welfare issues, including school attendance, child protection, and health-related matters
  • Experience in welfare services, social services, or educational settings
  • Proficient ICT skills, with a willingness to engage in training as necessary, to enhance effective administration, organization, communication, and management
  • Capability to utilize and adapt various CMIS & ICT tools to facilitate effective administration, organization, communication, and management
