About the Role

We are seeking a skilled L2 Buyer to join our team at Ocado Retail Ltd. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing our supply base and product range for the Home, Toys & Hardware categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage supplier performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and building strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Analyse data and insights to inform purchasing decisions and drive sales, profitability, and share growth.
  • Conduct competitor research and stay up-to-date with customer trends and preferences to shape our product and range requirements.
  • Source innovative products and ranges that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to agree and deliver joint business plans aligned to our customer plan and category strategy.
  • Plan and deliver trade, promotions, and events plans to drive customer penetration and basket spend.
  • Work closely with our Supply Chain team to ensure best-in-class availability and on-time delivery of products to our customers.
Requirements
  • Substantial experience in a buying role, preferably in a similar category.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to stakeholders.
  • Good commercial acumen and a results-oriented approach.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of audiences.
