Job Summary
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Animal Centre Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day running of our animal centre, ensuring daily tasks are completed to meet the highest standards of animal welfare. The post-holder will lead the development of teaching to learners conducting work experience and practical activities on their sections.
Key Responsibilities
- To take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the animal centre, ensuring daily tasks are completed to meet the highest standards of animal welfare.
- To lead the development of teaching to learners conducting work experience and practical activities on their sections.
- To implement our Health and Welfare Policy, including organising vet visits, periodic screenings, quarantine, and chairing our ethics committee.
- To update species-specific protocols and contribute to the strategic direction of the centre.
- To lead the centre in the absence of the animal centre manager.
Requirements
The post-holder will be responsible for:
- Having a recognised qualification in their subject area (a minimum of L4).
- Extensive industry experience and experience supervising/working with young people.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to working that embraces change and problem-solving.
