Position Overview: Secondary School Support Specialist

Role Details:

Key Duties:

  • Assist the lead educator in implementing engaging and curriculum-specific activities.
  • Help foster a secure, supportive, and stimulating atmosphere for learners aged 11-16.
  • Promote student growth through structured educational and extracurricular initiatives.
  • Provide assistance with personal care tasks when necessary.
  • Monitor and document student progress, aiding in the preparation of educational assessments and records.
  • Work with individual students and small groups, delivering tailored support to address their learning requirements.
  • Build positive relationships with students, guardians, and staff, contributing to an inclusive and welcoming educational environment.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and health and safety practices consistently.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant credentials in Education, Childcare, or a related discipline (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Prior experience in a secondary educational setting, either as a Support Specialist or in a comparable role.
  • Strong comprehension of the secondary school curriculum and the capability to effectively support student learning.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a nurturing and empathetic approach.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in diverse educational environments with varying methodologies.
  • A dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All compensation rates mentioned will include statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for permanent opportunities in the future.
