Job Title: Academic Mentor (in Pathways Provision)

Job Type: Permanent, 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time only plus 1 week)

Salary: Scale 4 £24,281 to Scale 6 £28,701 per annum, depending on experience

Pathways Provision: We have developed a pioneering provision, Pathways, to offer support, intervention, and a tailored curriculum to vulnerable young people. This provision is housed in a dedicated suite of rooms, where students receive a supportive environment with high standards.

Job Role: We are seeking an outstanding practitioner to be an academic learning mentor within the Pathways process. The role involves promoting high expectations for both behaviour and academic achievement, supporting the delivery of a tailored curriculum, and helping to deliver graduated 'early help' interventions to address social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be familiar with best practice in teaching students with specific learning and special educational needs, or who pose behavioural challenges
  • Liaise with a range of staff across the school, and disseminate best practice to them
  • Support the delivery of a tailored curriculum that meets the needs of vulnerable learners
  • Help deliver a suite of graduated 'early help' interventions to address social, emotional, and behavioural needs
