About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team at Mace. As a key member of our consulting team, you will play a crucial role in providing strategic cost management services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Planning and Management: You will be responsible for supporting cost planning, including ownership of and presenting cost plans to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: You will support the procurement process, ensuring effective stages including prequalification, enquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation.
  • Feasibility Studies and Cost Estimation: You will conduct feasibility studies, advise on procurement strategies, and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports.
  • Value Management and Cost Planning: You will apply value management techniques at the outset of a project and manage, estimate, and cost plan activities, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Contract Negotiation and Management: You will ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: You will be a key interface with clients, stakeholders, and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Carbon Transition and Sustainability: You will work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working within automotive/advanced manufacturing & technology sectors.
  • Qualifications: A degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent.
  • Skills: JCT form of contract experience essential with some knowledge of NEC, cost planning, budgeting, and estimating experience.
