In light of ongoing growth, an opportunity has arisen for a CNC Machining Specialist who is proficient in programming both online and offline CNC milling machines using CADCAM software, along with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.

Role Responsibilities

As a CNC Machining Specialist, you will collaborate with the milling team to consistently deliver high-quality components through effective methods while maximizing machining efficiency and machine usage. You will play a key role in fostering continuous improvement to enhance production flow and quality, aligning with the company's vision of being the preferred engineering partner for both employees and clients.

Key Duties:

  • Program, set up, and operate various CNC milling machines:
    • Independently develop work holding, methods, and machining processes whenever feasible.
    • Program and set up 3, 4, and 5-axis machines using Fusion D and EZ-Mill 2D offline CAD/CAM software.
    • Adhere to standardized programming, tooling, and program documentation procedures.
    • Ensure the next component is prepared for production at the end of each shift.
  • Consistently achieve superior quality in components:
    • Utilize robust work holding and methods.
    • Ensure first-off components meet quality standards.
    • Conduct in-process inspections to validate procedures.
    • Produce finished components that reflect pride in workmanship.
    • Participate in 8D-NCR investigations as necessary.
  • Maximize machining efficiency and machine utilization:
    • Strive to exceed planned cycle times.
    • Continuously seek improvements in machining methods without compromising process stability.
    • Collaborate with team members to enhance machine cycle times and utilization.
    • Utilize lights-out machining to maximize daily production.
    • Support colleagues during absences.
  • Engage in additional departmental tasks:
    • Perform bench work, tool fitting, and assembly tasks as required.
    • Set up and operate manual metal cutting equipment, such as lathes and milling machines.
    • Assist with material handling and distribution as needed.
    • Contribute to the training and mentoring of junior staff.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the milling department:
    • Contribute to weekly team meetings.
    • Identify issues and embrace opportunities for enhancement.
    • Complete assigned tasks promptly and participate in quarterly improvement projects.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Follow ISO9001:2015 procedures and feedback mechanisms.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in offline programming using CADCAM software (experience with Fusion 360 is preferred, but other software experience will be considered).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experienced CNC Miller, capable of programming, setting up, and operating machines with Fanuc and/or Heidenhain controls.
  • Familiarity with machining various materials, including aluminum, plastics, brass, bronze, copper, tool steels, stainless steel, and titanium.
  • Ability to machine to tolerances of +/- 0.1mm in batch sizes ranging from single units to hundreds.

Working Hours:
  • 41 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Overtime opportunities available, compensated at 1.4x for weekdays.
