About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Consultant to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a General Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior doctors and other healthcare staff
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes
  • Conduct ward rounds and provide medical care to patients on the General Medical Wards
  • Support the development of the Integrated Medicine and Patient Flow Division
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve patient flow and reduce unnecessary admissions
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council and a primary medical qualification
  • MRCP or equivalent, with a strong background in General Medicine
  • Experience in clinical leadership and management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team
